Illinois Probationary License Program
Illinois motorists are eligible to receive a Probationary
License if they have been suspended for 60 to 90 days for three
moving violations in a 12-month period and have been notified of
eligibility by the Secretary of State’s Office. Completion of
the eight-hour Defensive Driving Course - Attitudinal Dynamics
of Driving is mandatory to receive the Probationary License.

Illinois Remedial Education Course
Illinois motorists under the age of 20 are required to complete
a Driver Remedial Education Course if their driving privileges have
been suspended for a minimum of 30 days for two moving violations
in a 24-month period or are convicted under the zero tolerance laws
under the Graduated License Program.
Motorists who complete the four-hour Defensive Driving Course –
Alive at 25 program and fulfill the other requirements of their
suspension are eligible to have their license reinstated.
